The only reason why Ish Verduzco (@ishverduzco) noticed this trend of silent supporters, was from conversations with others who referenced multiple posts, sometimes shared them with their team but never engaged. This brings up the question of engagement in general and how valuable it really is.

Here are 7 ideas to help measure and increase your impact:

1. Conversations with Engagers:

Talk to people who are engaging with your content and ask for feedback. Replicate what’s working.

2. Connect with Silent Followers:

Setup calls with people who follow you but haven’t engaged. They might love your content but just don’t engage publicly.

3. Private Community/Newsletter:

Allow people to join a private community or newsletter and track engagement such as opens and sessions.

4.Host Events:

Host virtual or in-person events to deepen relationships with your audience. Attendees may become more publicly supportive.

5.Outbound Community Management:

Make it a daily goal to interact with 5 different followers. Consistent engagement can build stronger connections.

6.Test Content Formats:

Try different formats like video, photo, infographic, short form, and long form. People may support you but prefer different content types.

7.Interactive Engagement:

Use polls, questions, AMAs, etc. Some people might not use the “like” button but may respond to a question or ask one if prompted.
